Citylove Application

Below you’ll find several questions on a variety of topics aimed at helping us discern if you are ready to serve as an urban missionary in the city. Please answer questions thoroughly and with total honesty. Your answers will not be seen by anyone except for Pastor Scott and a small group of leaders involved in the vetting process. Once your application is reviewed we will follow up with an interview. This should take roughly 1-2 hours to complete.

When did you become Christian?

In this first question tell your story of how the message of Jesus has transformed your life. Describe your life before you met Christ. Then explain how you met Christ and in detail how your life is now different. This is the longest of the questions so take your time. This should be between 200-400 words.

Why do you want to serve as a Citylove urban missionary?

Describe your various church and ministry experiences through the years including Ren.

What Christian authors and preachers (dead or alive) resonate with your theology the most?

Describe your present life of prayer and other spiritual habits.

What are your interests and talents?

Is there anything about your theology or lifestyle that might be considered questionable in serving in this capacity? Expound.

Are all your family and church relationships in order or are you presently working through any unforgiveness toward anyone? Expound.

If tension or difference were to arise between you and another Citylove leader how would you go about resolving it?

What types of jobs have you worked through the years? Describe which ones you loved and disliked the most and why.

Describe your home life growing up and how it affects you today whether positive or negative or both.

Since the church will cover your housing expenses entirely for the 12 month mission what are the remaining expenses you will have monthly? List them out line by line like a rough budget.

What are your feelings about raising this money for your 12 month mission? Do you need training? Do you consider this easy or impossible?
