Stations of the Cross Mural
Designating a strip of sidewalk in Dexter Park, I painted (with colored corn starch) the fourteen episodes from the Catholic Stations of the Cross. Most places had been closed all winter, including Good Friday, but I wanted to publicly ponder Jesus’ crucifixion. The slow-paced installation helped me to meditate over each scene of Jesus’ journey to Golgotha where he died.
Early Easter morning I finished the series by adding the final figure, a resurrected Jesus next to an empty tomb.
Jesus is King! Risen indeed.
